Last December I bought the novel “The Christmas Cookie Club” by A. Pearlman and while enjoying myself reading it I had two ideas that jumped into my minds:

1) Bake the cookies, take a picture and comment the recipes
2) try to find “friends” on the web willing to share their recipes.

I've never participated to a real “cookie swap party”. It's not a Swiss tradition. Oh yes, we do bring cookies to the people we love during Christmas but the Cookie Club described by A. Pearlman in her book is something I dream of... Probably it's high time we “imported” the tradition in Switzerland.

I didn't do it physically but virtually (for the moment – future will tell!) and started a “looking-for- your-cookie-recipe” campaign in Facebook (at that time I never would have imagined that one day I'd write a blog). Soon some of my closest friends answered to my call and today our album counts 28 recipes from around the world.

I hope you'll join me in this new adventure and send me lots and lots of recipes and photos.

How it works:

1) It doesn't matter which cookie recipe you choose,
but to make this swap more interesting, it would be great if you'd share
"something local”.

2) Send me an e-mail with your recipe + photos at sweetandthatsit {at} hotmail {dot} com

Please, do not forget to include:
- your name
- your blogname and link
- permalink to your post
- a photo of your recipe or permission to pull one from your post (What makes a recipe interesting is its photo. Sorry but no recipes will be posted without a photo)
- Your country so that I can add your flag to the cookie.

3) Add the Badge “International and Virtual Cookie Swap Badge” that you find at the end of this post, or/and the link to this page in your blog or FB or any other Social Network. This will help the album travel faster around the world.

4) Our Netiquette Rule: Fair Sharing! Remember to respect copyright.

I will translate the recipe into Italian (the recipe will be shared in English and Italian) and post it on this blog together with your picture, your name and back link to your blog (or FB page, …). You can send your recipe in English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Italian...I'll translate it for you.
All you have to do now is run into your kitchen and start baking cookies. I'm sure your family will be more than grateful ....

Lo scorso dicembre ho acquistato il romanzo "The Christmas Cookie Club" di A. Pearlman e mentre mi divertivo a leggerlo mi sono balzate in mente due idee:

1) Preparare i biscotti, scattare una foto e commentare le ricette

2) Trovare "amici" sul web disposti a condividere le loro ricette.

Non ho mai partecipato ad una festa dello “scambio del biscotto” (Cookie Swap): non è una tradizione svizzera. Qui da noi durante il periodo natalizio è usanza portare i biscotti fatti in casa alle persone che amiamo, ma il Cookie Club descritto da A. Pearlman nel suo libro è una serata veramente speciale che si attende con gioia ed impazienza tutto l'anno...

Che sia giunto il momento di "importare" questa tradizione anche in Svizzera?

Così mi sono buttata in una nuova avventura... non l'ho fatto fisicamente ma “solo” virtualmente, iniziando la campagna dello scambio delle ricette su Facebook (a quei tempi l'idea di aprire un blog non mi sembrava realizzabile. - mai dire mai!)

Ben presto alcuni dei miei amici più cari hanno risposto al mio appello e oggi il nostro album conta 28 ricette da diversi parti del mondo.

Spero che vi unirete a me/noi in questa dolce avventura, mandandomi tante tante ricette e foto.

Come funziona:

1) Quale sia la ricetta che scegliete non è importante ma per rendere questo scambio ancora più interessante, sarebbe bello se sceglieste una ricetta "locale".

2) Mandatemi per email la ricetta E foto:

Non dimenticatevi di includere:

- Il vostro nome

- Il nome del vostro blog / pagina Facebook e link

- Permalink del vostro articolo

- Una foto della vostra ricetta o il permesso di copiarla dal vostro blog (Spiacenti ma le ricette senza foto non verranno pubblicate. Ciò che rende un biscotto appetitoso è la sua foto)
- La vostra nazionalità, affinché possa aggiungere la bandiera al biscotto.

3) Aggiungete al vostro blog ( o FB, …) il Badge di "International Swap and Virtual Badge Cookie" che trovate in fondo a questo post e / o il link a questa pagina.

4) Le nostre regole di Netiquette: condividiamo onestamente! Ricordatevi di rispettare il copyright.

Io tradurrò le vostre ricette in inglese (tutte le ricette saranno in italiano e inglese) e le pubblicherò su questo blog assieme alle vostre foto, il vostro nome e link al vostro blog (o pagina di FB, ...).

(Accetto ricette in inglese, francese, tedesco, spagnolo, olandese, italiano ... le tradurrò per voi)

Voilà, non vi resta che andare di corsa in cucina a preparare i vostri biscotti. Sono sicura che la vostra famiglia vi sarà più che grata...
